Description
The composition shows the town of Sorrento overlooking the Gulf of Naples, with white houses resting along the coastline. In the background, the sea opens up in deep blue brushstrokes, while the outline of Mount Vesuvius rises on the horizon as an unmistakable feature of the Campanian landscape.
The decoration is entirely painted by hand. Every house, wave, leaf, and landscape detail is created through the artisan’s touch, using spontaneous brushstrokes and different shades of color. Slight variations in the design and tones make each piece original and one of a kind.
